Get quick access to the Refuge House foster family portal — no app store needed. Just follow the steps below for your device.
This only works in Safari — not Chrome or other browsers. Make sure you're using the Safari app (blue compass icon).
Tap the address bar and type:
home.refugehouse.org
then tap Go on your keyboard.
At the bottom of Safari, tap the Share button — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up.
Scroll through the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.
You can rename it (e.g. Refuge House). Then tap Add in the top right. The icon will appear on your home screen!
Use Google Chrome on your Android phone (the round colorful circle icon).
Tap the address bar and type:
home.refugehouse.org
then tap Go or Enter.
In the top-right corner of Chrome, tap the ⋮ (three dots) button to open the menu.
Look for Add to Home screen in the menu. On some phones it may say Install app — tap either one.
A prompt will appear. Tap Add or Install. The Refuge House icon will appear on your home screen!
Looks and works like an app! Once added, tapping the icon opens Refuge House in full screen — no browser address bar, just like a native app. If you ever have trouble, your case manager can walk you through these steps.
When the app opens, you'll be asked for the mobile phone number on file with Refuge House. Type it in and tap Send Code.
You'll receive a text message from Refuge House with a 6-digit code. Open your Messages app and find it — it arrives within seconds.
Type the 6-digit code into the app and tap Verify. You'll be taken directly to your home page.
